EVERY DOG DESERVES WARMTH.
We collect gently-used and new jackets, clothing, and blankets for dogs whose humans are experiencing housing insecurity in the Seattle area.
Meet Brisbane Albin
I spent the first three months of my life in Oakland with a loving human who was unable to provide consistent shelter. It was during the wintertime and they eventually had to give me up as they were unable to care for me. Pit bulls and pit mixes have short, thin coats never built for cold climates, and we are one of the most common breeds without shelter today.
Now that I have a roof and a warm wardrobe, I want to help dogs that are still out there in the cold. That is why I asked my humans to start Brisbane's Closet. We are collecting jackets, clothing, and blankets for dogs sleeping on the streets in Seattle.
Brisbane's Closet is run entirely by volunteers. Nobody is paid, and every dollar goes to keeping a dog warm. We are working toward charitable status and will share the details here once it is granted.
Why It Matters
Not every dog is built for a Seattle winter.
Some breeds and conditions put dogs at real risk in cold, wet weather.
Small & Toy Breeds
Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and other small dogs lose body heat fast.
Pit Bulls & Pit Mixes
These dogs have a short, single-layer coat (unlike many breeds with a double-coat) which makes them especially vulnerable to cold weather. They are also among the most common breeds without shelter.
Senior & Sick Dogs
Older or ill dogs regulate body temperature less effectively.

Make a Donation
Donated coats keep a lot of dogs warm. But the items we need most — extra-large for pit mixes, extra-small for chihuahuas and waterproof shells for Seattle rain — do not always make it into the donation bin. Your donation will allow for the purchase of waterproof, warm apparel that we can ensure is the right size for each dog we are able to reach.
WE CARE ABOUT EVERY DOG SLEEPING OUTSIDE TONIGHT.
